Recruitment and enrollment in clinical trials remain key sources of cost and frustration for research sites staff. Recent data shows that nearly 80% of trials fail to meet enrollment timelines1 and that approximately one-third of all Phase III study terminations are a result of poor enrollment.
Traditionally, study teams have had little to no control over study recruitment and, as time has passed, the belief that recruitment must be difficult and chaotic has grown roots. Many feel that lengthy recruitment periods and over-recruiting are unavoidable constants.
Join a discussion with Matt Walz, CEO of Trialbee and Ian Smith, MBE.MB.ChB.BMedSc(Hons), Chief Medical Officer, Panthera Biopartners, moderated by Craig Lipset, as they discuss:
- What are the pain points in clinical trial recruitment for research sites staff, and how might technology be used to reduce burden?
- What are the primary sources of leakage in the “recruitment funnel” and what are modern improvement strategies?
- How can we improve the quality of referrals to busy clinical research sites?
- What will it take for patient recruitment to no longer be viewed as the top source of burden in study conduct?
